The Sanghwan family just want their Alex back.

Alexander Sanghwan, of Ottawa, remains in an induced coma at the Jackson Memorial Hospital Trauma Center in Miami surrounded by his family after a hit and run.

On March 29, Alexander was walking with his brother Andrew and their friend from a bar at 5:30 a.m. when he was hit by a navy blue BMW.

Nearlly a week later, the Sanghwans are uncertain of what will happen to their youngest son.

"He's still in the ICU, we're not too sure exactly what the future is going to be," his 25-year-old brother Andrew told QMI Agency.

"He has multiple broken bones and a serious head injury. We still haven't been told the extend of the head injury."

His father Robbie also wished he knew more.

"A little bit of improvement but not much," he said.

"With head injuries you can't predict what's going to happen."

Alexander and Andrew visited their parents, Robbie and Patricia, who are wintering in Sarasota, Fla., and decided to go to Miami to visit a friend on March 24.

"We didn't have much planned, it was our first time in Miami," he said.

Andrew said the night his brother was hit, they had gone out to a bar.

"We were walking on the side of the road and a car came from behind us. But I didn't hear it slow it down."
