GRATIOT COUNTY, MI : Clio man dies in crash at Gratiot County intersection on Wednesday, 13th March 2024

A Clio man died Wednesday morning after police say he drove into the path of a commercial van in Gratiot County.

The Gratiot County Sheriff's Office says 47-year-old David Wilder was driving a car west on Lincoln Road when he stopped for a stop sign at Wisner Road in Emerson Township around 10:50 a.m.

Investigators say Wilder then pulled into the path of a commercial van traveling south on Wisner Road, which hit the side of his car.

Wilder was pronounced dead on the scene. A 42-year-old man from Ithaca driving the van went to an area hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
