A family of five remains hospitalized in Buffalo after being struck by the driver of a pick-up truck Sunday afternoon in Cattaraugus County.
According to Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s officials, the family was leaving a yard sale just after 4 p.m. when the pick-up collided with their parked van.
The crash occurred in Town of Freedom along Route 98.
Two of the children were reportedly inside the parked van, another was near the van with their parents.
News 4 confirmed the driver of the pick-up truck is the son of the yard sale hosts; he too was taken to the hospital, but has since been released.
The two parents struck were taken to ECMC, and the three children were transported to Women & Children’s Hospital. They are in stable condition.
The Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office Accident Reconstruction Team is still investigating what led to the collision.
Toxicology results are spending for the driver. No charges have been filed.
