Myrtle Beach, SC: Louisiana Man Charged in Accident that Killed 2 Children on US 17 on Tuesday, July 21st 2015

Authorities in South Carolina have charged a Louisiana man in connection with a crash that killed two girls and left six people hospitalized.Local media outlets report 47-year-old Neil Joseph DeJean of Duson, Louisiana, is charged with two counts of reckless homicide caused by injury from a vehicle and open container of alcohol in a vehicle. He was jailed Wednesday and was awaiting a bond hearing. Jail records don’t say whether he has an attorney.The S.C. Highway Patrol says the car DeJean was driving hit a minivan on U.S. 17 Tuesday. Horry County Coroner Robert Edge identified the girls killed as 9-year-old Skyler Emore and 11-year-old Dakota Shepherd from Timberlake, North Carolina.Three other people in the van were hurt, as were DeJean and two passengers in his car.
