Lancaster , SC : Man and his fiancee were killed and one toddler was injured after single Vehicle Crash in Lancaster County on Saturday morning , December 27th 2014

A man and his fiancée died, while a toddler survived, after a single-vehicle accident Saturday morning in Lancaster County, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol.

“I came running out of my garage and I saw the car flip over,” said Lynn Brunson. “My husband and I ran to help and that’s when he noticed a toddler in the back seat. He was strapped in his car seat and alert and able to tell us his name.”

Medics rushed the 2-year-old boy to an area hospital but pronounced his mother and her fiancé dead at the scene.
Officials later identified the couple as Libby Hopkins, 20, and Zachary Lingle, 22, both of Fort Lawn.

Hopkins was driving north on Riverside Drive when she lost control of the car, ran off the right side of the road and struck a culvert, according to investigators. The impact caused the car to flip onto its top. Investigators said neither Hopkins nor Lingle were wearing seat belts.

A relative said the couple got engaged just six months ago.

The crash remains under investigation.
