WICHITA, KS : A woman has died after a crash in west Wichita on Wednesday, 22nd November 2023

The Wichita Police Department say a 24-year-old woman has died following a crash in west Wichita on Wednesday night.

Police confirm the crash happened at Shade Lane and Ridge Rd. around 10:20 p.m.

Two cars were involved in the crash, both were traveling on Ridge Rd. with a truck going south and a car heading north. When police got to the scene, they found Anastasia Carter trapped in her car. They were able to get her out and take her to a hospital where she later passed away.

The driver of the other car was also taken to the hospital but had non-life-threatening injuries.

Police say they are unsure if speeding or alcohol played a part in the crash.

An investigation is ongoing.
