Middletown, OH : One person dead after a crash on Roosevelt Avenue in Middletown on Friday, December 19, 2014

A teenager is dead after being hit by a car in Middletown early Friday. The crash was first reported just before 6 a.m. near the intersection of State Route 122 and Dixie Highway. Middletown police said victim was a 17-year-old pedestrian. Troopers said 45-year-old Lisa Manning, of Trenton, was heading east on SR 122 when she hit William “Brandon” Sheek II, of Middletown. Police said Sheek was trying to cross the four-lane divided highway at the time. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Manning was taken to Atrium Hospital but was not seriously injure. Investigators said the call initially came in as a deer struck but first responders saw that the victim was a person. Troopers said alcohol and speed were not considered factors and Manning has not been charged. The Ohio State Highway Patrol is handling the investigation.
