Upper Pottsgrove, PA : Motorcycle driver injured in Route 100 crash on Tuesday afternoon, April 26, 2016

A motorcycle driver was taken to the hospital after crashing into a vehicle on Route 100 late Tuesday afternoon. No other injuries were reported.

It happened along Farmington Avenue at the northbound exit of Route 100 at 5:20 p.m.

A red Mazda sedan was attempting to turn off of Route 100 onto Farmington Avenue when the white Harley Davidson crashed into it, Upper Pottsgrove Police Chief Francis Wheatley said. Gilbertsville Ambulance transported the motorcycle driver to Pottstown Memorial Medical Center.

A report from the scene indicated that the motorcycle driver was not wearing a helmet and sustained a serious head injury. Police are still investigating the incident and could not report on the status of the injury.

Upper Pottsgrove Fire Company assisted at the scene and fire police closed Farmington Road at the off ramp of Route 100 for several hours.
