NASHVILLE, TN : 30-year-old driver killed in head-on Nashville crash identified, another in critical on Thursday, 8th June 2023

The Metro Nashville Police Department (MNPD) has identified a 30-year-old who died after causing a head-on crash in Nashville Thursday night.

MNPD reports David B. Todd was driving a Nissan Altima east in the center turn lane of Thompson Lane at a high rate of speed when he crossed into oncoming traffic.

Todd struck a Toyota Camry head-on, leaving the driver in critical condition. Police transported both to Vanderbilt University Medical Center (VUMC) where Todd died of his injuries.

Why he crossed into the oncoming lane is unknown and a toxicology report by the Medical Examiner will be conducted to see if impairment played a role.
