The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating a deadly crash in Lexington County.
The Lexington County Coroner identified the victim in the crash as 29-year-old John Thornton from West Columbia.
Troopers say around 9:30 p.m. Saturday night, Thornton was traveling west on Dogwood Road near Fish Hatchery Road when his car ran off the road and hit a telephone pole.
Despite wearing a seatbelt troopers say Thornton was ejected from the car and died at the scene.
An autopsy is scheduled to determine the exact cause of death.
