Terre Haute, IN : An accident in northern Vigo County on Saturday, 10th March 2018

One person went to the hospital late Saturday night after an accident in northern Vigo County in which a car hit a semi trailer on Rosedale Road.

The accident happened about 11 p.m. at 10001 Rosedale Road, according to Josh Craft, public information officer with the Otter Creek Fire Department.

According to Craft, a man was backing his semi truck and trailer into his driveway when a car struck the trailer.

The car had three occupants — the driver and two passengers; the driver and one passenger “were okay and refused treatment.” The front passenger was transported to a local hospital with injuries from broken glass; the injuries were not life-threatening. “That person was not wearing a seatbelt,” Craft said.

The driver of the vehicle that struck the trailer was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol, Craft said.
