PELHAM, NH : 2 kids hurt in alleged DWI crash on Thursday, 7th February 2019

Two children were sent to the hospital night after their father allegedly crashed his vehicle under the influence of alcohol.

Antonio DiRocco, 26, of Pelham, was arrested on charges of driving under the influence, two counts of aggravated DUI, two counts of endangering the welfare of a child, reckless operation, criminal mischief, open container and yellow line violations.

According to police, emergency personnel responded to the one-car crash on Mammoth Road near Old County Road about 7:53 p.m. Tuesday and found the maroon 2005 GMC Envoy operated by DiRocco on the side of the road with heavy front-end damage.

Police said DiRocco was traveling northbound on Mammoth Road when he lost control of the vehicle, causing it to cross the opposite lane of travel and strike a telephone pole, cutting it in half. All of the vehicle's airbags deployed.

DiRocco's sons, ages 3 and 5, were in car seats in the vehicle at the time of the crash. Police said the boys suffered injuries that were not life-threatening and were transported to Lowell General Hospital for treatment. According to Lt. Anne Perriello, the children were released to their mother, who was not involved in the crash.
