SAN CLEMENTE, CA : Bicyclists, pedestrian hurt in California pickup truck crash on Monday, 13th August 2018
Authorities say four people were hospitalized after a speeding pickup truck lost control and caused a chain-reaction crash in a Southern California beach city.
The Orange County Sheriff’s Department says the Dodge pickup slammed into four parked vehicles, sending one car crashing into two bicyclists Sunday in San Clemente. Another car struck a pedestrian.
The Orange County Register says one person was airlifted and three others were taken by ambulances to hospitals with unknown injuries. The pickup’s driver, a man in his 30s, was among the injured.
Investigators say the truck was traveling at a high rate of speed when it struck a curb, went through a median, hit a pole and then crashed into the parked cars.
No arrests were immediately announced. The crash is under investigation.
