Two-car accident leads to Ohio Turnpike shutdown

All three westbound lanes of the Ohio Turnpike were shut down just west of Fremont after a two-vehicle accident Thursday night.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol said that the accident involved a car and a van and that both were engulfed in flames when emergency crews arrived.

All three westbound lanes of the highway near mile marker 89 are shutdown. The accident happened around 7:15 p.m. and is under investigation.

Authorities recommend that motorists exit at Exit 110 and take Route 4 north to State Route 2 or south to U.S. 20 to continue west.
