Diamond Bluff, WI : Red Wing man airlifted following motorcycle crash in the Town of Diamond Bluff early Sunday afternoon, May 22, 2016
A Red Wing man was airlifted from the scene of a motorcycle crash in the Town of Diamond Bluff early Sunday afternoon.
At 12:44 p.m., 52-year-old Joseph L. Miller was traveling northbound on County Road O, one-half a mile north of Highway 35, when he came into a corner at too high of a rate of speed, lost control and crashed, a State Patrol news release said.
Miller was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. He was ejected from the motorcycle and suffered non-life threatening injuries, including a large laceration on his head.
He was airlifted to Mayo Hospital in Rochester by North Memorial Air.
The crash remains under investigation by the Wisconsin State Patrol, but speed appears to be the primary factor.
The state patrol was assisted by North Memorial Air, Pierce County Sheriff’s Department, Ellsworth Fire and Red Wing EMS.
