NASHVILLE, TN : 1 dead, 3 hospitalized after crash involving correctional officer, inmate in Stewart County on Wednesday, 20th March 2024

A Houston County correctional officer and an inmate were involved in a fatal crash on Highway 233 Wednesday afternoon, according to Sheriff Kevin Sugg.

Sugg said the crash occurred during the transport of an inmate to Stewart County. The crash left one civilian dead and three others were flown to a Nashville hospital for treatment.

Their condition is currently unknown.
