Providence, RI : Man faces variety of charges after single-vehicle crash one died, two others were injured on Saturday July 5th 2014

State police have arrested an Opelousas man on a charge of vehicular homicide following a single-vehicle crash Saturday in Krotz Springs.

The crash claimed the life of one woman and sent two other passengers to the hospital. The driver, 28-year-old Nicholas LaFleaur was placed under arrest suspected to be impaired at the time of the crash.

He was booked into the St. Landry Parish jail for DWI, vehicular homicide, two counts vehicular negligent injuring, reckless operation and two counts of no seat belt.

The crash remains under investigation.
