Sandusky, OH : Man injured in two-vehicle crash on SR 2 in VERMILION TOWNSHIP on Sunday, Aug 30, 2015

The Sandusky Highway Patrol Post is investigating a two-vehicle crash that left one person injured Sunday.

Around 3:08 p.m., 66-year-old Michael J. Jaskolka, of Newburgh Heights, was injured when he overturned his vehicle on State Route 2. He sustained serious injuries and was flown to St. Vincent's Hospital.

Jaskolka was driving a 1990 Geo Prizm eastbound in the left lane. Michael A. Stolar, 51, of North Olmsted, was driving a 2012 Volkswagen Routan minivan eastbound in the right lane.

Stolar attempted to change lanes in front of Jaskolka's vehicle. Jaskolka swerved left to avoid Stolar's vehicle and lost control.

Jaskolka's vehicle slid off the left slide of the road, struck a concrete bridge barrier, overturned multiple times and came to a stop in the left eastbound lane of SR 2.

Stolar was not injured.

Jaskolka was wearing a seat belt, but he did not have the shoulder strap portion of the belt on.

One eastbound lane was closed for approximately two hours.

The crash is still under investigation and no citation has been issued at this time.
