STEPHENSON COUNTY, IL : 2 dead, 1 injured in Stephenson County crash on Illinois Highway 26 a half mile north of Orangeville Road on Friday, 9th August 2019

A two-vehicle crash in rural Stephenson County on Friday killed two people and injured a third, Stephenson County Sheriff’s Police said.

The crash occurred on Illinois Highway 26 a half mile north of Orangeville Road.

Two occupants in one of the vehicles were pronounced dead at the scene. The occupant of a second vehicle was flown by helicopter to Mercyhealth’s Javon Bea Hospital-Rockton in Rockford.

The names of the deceased will not be released until their families are notified.


The cause of the crash is being investigated by Stephenson County Sheriff’s Police.
