Norwalk, OH : Local woman taken to hospital after crash on Wednesday, 10th August, 2016
Nicole S. Pocock, 31, of 856 Greenwich Milan Townline Road, was driving her vehicle west on Hasbrock Road at 11:54 a.m. Wednesday when the vehicle went off the right side and hit a mailbox, said troopers with the Norwalk post of the state Highway Patrol. Pocock overcorrected, returned to the vehicle to the road and crossed the center line. The vehicle then went off the left side and overturned onto the driver’s side and hit a private driveway.
North Central EMS transported Pocock to Fisher-Titus Medical Center with incapacitating injuries.
6:57 a.m. Monday: Barry M. Edler, 25, of 93 N. Exchange Road, New London, was charged with failure to control. He was eastbound on U.S. 20 when he went off the left side and hit a road sign and utility sign. The vehicle then hit a ditch and overturned.
5:51 a.m. Monday: The 2015 Jeep Patriot driven by Miguel A. Rivera, 42, of 1830 Vesta Road, Wakeman, was parked along Ohio 18 when it became engulfed in flames. The fire started in the undercarriage in the rear of the vehicle. The Norwalk Fire Department responded and extinguished the blaze. There were no injuries and no citation was issued.
8:40 a.m. Friday: Rusty W. Shull Jr., 20, of Circleville, was charged with failure to control. He was southbound on Ohio 4 when he went left of center. Shull went off the left side and continued into a ditch before hitting a field driveway entrance. The vehicle went airborne and overturned in a field. Citizens Ambulance transported Shull to The Bellevue Hospital with non-incapacitating injuries.
6:05 p.m. Friday: William K. McClellan, 38, of Indianapolis, was charged with failure to maintain assured clear distance after he hit the rear of the vehicle driven by Joy F. Massie, 52, of Attica. Massie slowed down to turn into a private driveway off U.S. 224. After the collision, McClellan went off the right side and into a ditch.
6:15 p.m. Aug. 4: Anne E. Schwirtz, 23, of Cincinnati, was charged with failure to maintain assured clear distance after she hit the rear of the vehicle driven by Scott M. Ziemba, 51, of 9 1/?2 N. West St. Ziemba was southbound on Ohio 601 and stopped for traffic at the Ohio 18 intersection.
5:12 p.m. Aug. 4: David M. Wallace, 58, of Leesburg, Fla., was charged with stop sign violation in the collision with the vehicle driven by Aaron T. Smith, 44, of Huron, at the intersection of Ohio 18 and Greenwich Milan Townline Road.
9:20 p.m. Aug. 3: Dora J. Chaffee, 46, of Huron, was charged with failure to control. She was in a grassy area near Ohio 61 and when she attempted to enter the road, she hit two guy wires, causing two utility poles in the area to snap.
8:40 a.m. Aug. 2: Billy G. Springer, 63, of East Liverpool, was charged with failure to control. He was northbound on Ohio 60 when he attempted to turn right onto Ohio 303. His trailer went off the east side, causing the load to go into the drainage ditch.
