PLACER COUNTY, CA : 68-year-old man dies in head-on Placer County crash on Monday, 28th December 2020

A 68-year-old man died Monday morning after a head-on crash with another vehicle in Placer County, the California Highway Patrol said.

The crash happened at the intersection of Athens Avenue and North Foothills Boulevard around 11:29 a.m., CHP said. Witnesses told CHP that the man, John Haugen, of Rocklin, was slowly driving eastbound on Athens Avenue when he swerved into westbound lanes and hit a white pick-up truck.
