A 33-year-old Jefferson City man died Friday in a two-vehicle accident off of Whippoorwill Road in Moniteau County.
Rodriguez C. Long was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash at 4:41 p.m. by a Moniteau County coroner, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol. He was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the collision.
The accident occurred at 4:15 p.m. after Long's eastbound 2002 Chevrolet Venture crossed the road and struck a westbound vehicle head-on, according to the Highway Patrol.The westbound vehicle, a Ford F-350 driven by Alexander P. Terrell, 20, crossed the center line and returned to the westbound lane before stopping off the right side of the road. Terrell, who was wearing a seat belt, was not injured.Joshua L. Long, a passenger in Terrell's car who isn't related to Rodriguez C. Long, suffered moderate injuries.He was taken to St. Mary’s Hospital by ambulance, according to the Highway Patrol. The 32-year-old California, Missouri, resident was wearing a seat belt at the time of the collision.
