MONETT, MO : A pedestrian was seriously injured on Saturday, June 17, 2017

A pedestrian was seriously injured when he was struck by a sports utility vehicle north of Monett on Saturday.

According to the Missouri Highway Patrol, Donald J. Kettler, 53, of Cassville, was walking in the roadway on Route H one mile north of Monett when he was struck by a vehicle driven by Lowell D. Hantelman, 86, of Rogers, Arkansas.

Kettler was taken to Cox South Hospital in Springfield with serious injuries.

Hantelman was uninjured, and his vehicle sustained minor damage, according to the patrol report. The accident occurred at 1:35 a.m. on Saturday.
