Adams County ,IL : 62-year-old Michael L. Pulliam after fatal bicycle crash on Saturday morning ,June 20th 2015
Adams County Coroner, James Keller tells KHQA 62-year-old Michael L. Pulliam of quincy was pronounced dead at 5:23 this morning in his Blessing Hospital Emergency Room.
Shortly after the call to help an injured bicyclist, Adams County Deputies found an abandoned vehicle with damage consistent with a vehicle accident.
After further investigation, Colton J. Walker of Camp Point was taken into custody and lodged in Adams County Jail for leaving the scene of an accident involving death.
Trooper Mike Kindhart with the Illinois State Police has confirmed with KHQA a man is dead after being struck on his bicycle by a car.
Adams County Sheriff’s deputies responded to Highway 24 and Spring Lake around 4:30 this morning for a crash involving a man on a bicycle.
When they arrived, the car involved in the crash had left the scene.
The cyclist was transported to Blessing Hospital with major injuries by ambulance. He was later pronounced dead.
At this time, the investigation is ongoing by the Adams County Sheriff’s Office and the Illinois State Police.
Highway 24 is still closed from the North 24th Junction to the crash scene. At 12:15 Adams County James Keller confirmed he was still on location with the scene being reconstructed
