Jefferson County, MT : 20-year-old man dead in Jefferson County crash on Thursday morning, June 26, 2014

An early morning crash along I-15 in Jefferson county leaves a 20-year-old man dead.

According to the Montana Highway Patrol trooper on scene, the crash happened around 2:50 a.m. in between Boulder and Butte.

A 15-year-old male passenger was also in the car. The driver was headed northbound in the southbound lane, heading the wrong direction, when he lost control and crashed into the concrete barrier.

He was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from the vehicle. Meanwhile, the 15 year old passenger was wearing a seatbelt and survived with minor injuries.

He was transported to St. James Hospital in Butte.

According to a MHP officer alcohol and speed are factors in this crash. The trooper says the driver was from Canada while the 15 year old is from Arizona.
