SANDOWN, NH : 17-year-old airlifted to Boston hospital after crashing ATV in Sandown on Friday, 9th November 2018

A 17-year-old was airlifted to a Boston hospital Friday after crashing an all-terrain vehicle on a trail in Sandown, officials said.

Fish and Game said the teen hit a tree head-on after losing control of the ATV on the Rockingham Recreational Rail Trail about 4 p.m.Two people riding alongside him called for help, and he was taken by helicopter to Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center with serious injuries, Fish and Game said in a press release.

The teen was wearing a helmet, and officials said it appears that inattention led to the crash.
