River Road LA : Man serious condition after he was involved in three car crash on River Road wednesday afternoon around 12.17pm April 30 2014.
A 49-year-old man is in serious condition after he was involved in three-car crash on River Road Wednesday afternoon.
Albert Kassow, 49, was trapped inside his vehicle and had to be extricated by the Cincinnati Fire Department after his car was struck by another motorist around 12:17 p.m. Wednesday on the 6300 block of River Road, police say.
Kassow was not wearing his seatbelt, sustained serious injuries and was transported to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center, where he was listed in serious condition Wednesday night, according to police.
Police are investigating the crash and say Kassow's car, which was traveling westbound on River Road, was stuck by another motorist, who failed to yield to oncoming traffic as he was traveling from eastbound River Road to Revere Avenue.
Wilton Rose, 78, was identified as the driver who hit Kassow's vehicle. Rose was wearing his seatbelt and sustained minor injuries. He was also transported to UC Medical Center, but was treated and released.
After being hit by Rose's car, Kassow's vehicle then crashed into another vehicle that was at the stop sign at the intersection of Revere Avenue and River Road. The driver of that vehicle was not injured.
Police say speed and alcohol do not appear to be factors in the crash.
