Pocatello,ID : Two killed, two others injured in Bonneville County crash on may, Monday 22th 2017
Two people died and two others were seriously injured in a crash that occurred Monday in Bonneville County — on the same road where another fatal accident took place over the weekend.
Bonneville County sheriff’s officials said Monday’s crash happened at the intersection of 45th West and 17th South shortly after noon and involved a 1995 Geo Tracker, occupied by three juveniles, all 15 years of age, and a 2005 Chevrolet Tahoe, driven by a 31-year-old female.
Officials say the investigation is ongoing, but it appears that the Geo, which was westbound on 17th South, failed to yield to the southbound Chevrolet. The vehicles crashed in the intersection and came to rest in the front yard of a nearby residence.
A male and a female teen both died at the scene. The other 15-year-old male passenger in the Geo and the driver of the Chevrolet were transported to Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center in Idaho Falls with severe injuries, officials said.
They did not release the names of those involved in the crash.
Monday’s incident was the second teen fatality that Bonneville County sheriff’s deputies have responded to on 45th West recently.
They say a 13-year-old male pedestrian from Shelley also died late Friday night after he was struck by a vehicle driven by an adult male from Shelley in the 7000 block of South 45th West.
“The juvenile victim was with two other juvenile males and the dark clothing they were wearing was a factor in the cause of the accident,” officials said in a news release.
Neither of the other juveniles nor the driver were injured.
Sheriff’s officials have not released the names of those involved in that accident, which is still under investigation. But media and funeral home reports indicate the victim’s name was Ethan Chad Johnson.
A fundraiser, “Funeral fund for Ethan Johnson,” has been set up at gofundme.com to help his family. Donations can be made at http://tinyurl.com/kshb9ph
