PHOENIX, AZ : Alleged DUI driver in custody after crash in Phoenix leaves man hospitalized on Saturday, 6th January 2024
A man is in the hospital, and another is in custody after an overnight crash in Phoenix early Saturday.
Just after 1 a.m., police officers were called to Central Avenue and Dobbins Road on reports of a crash. As officers arrived, they found a man seriously injured. He was rushed to the hospital, where he remains in critical but stable condition. Authorities say the second driver, 26-year-old Jesten Calderon Jimenez, was under the influence and later arrested.
According to police, both drivers were heading east on Dobbins Road when the victim attempted to make a left onto Central Avenue. At the same time, Jimenez tried to pass the driver on his left, causing the collision.
