Rockford, IL : 62-year-old DeKalb woman has died in a car crash with a semitrailer on Monday morning September 1st 2014

Winnebago County authorities say a 62-year-old DeKalb woman has died in a car crash with a semitrailer. The Rockford Register Star reports the Winnebago County Coroner's Office says Debra Hopkins was pronounced dead Monday at a northern Illinois hospital. Illinois State Police says Hopkins was traveling northbound in an SUV when she was hit in an intersection by a semi traveling eastbound. Police responded to the scene and are investigating. Witnesses tell police the SUV stopped at the intersection before driving into the truck's path. Police haven't filed charges.
