Lynn, UT : Idaho dump truck driver killed after a crash in Box Elder County on Friday, Oct 23, 2015

The driver of a dump truck was killed late Friday when his fully loaded vehicle crashed.

The incident happened about 10 p.m. between Lynn and Oakley, Idaho. Jason Hale, 37, of Oakley, was driving a 1989 Freightliner 10-wheel dump truck from the summit of Cotton Thomas Road toward Lynn when the crash occurred.

Hale's brother was following the dump truck in another car.

"He stated he believed that the brakes failed on the truck because it was going so fast," said Box Elder Chief Sheriff's Deputy Dale Ward.

Hale's brother took Jason to Oakley where he was pronounced dead.

The truck was used in a rock quarry business and was "loaded to capacity" at the time of the crash, Ward said.

The investigation into the crash continued Sunday.
