Cass County, MI : 43-year-old Patrick Hollis dead and one person injured after two cars collided on US-12 in Milton Township on Friday morning, March 6, 2015

One man is dead after two cars collided head-on Friday morning on US-12.

Michigan State Police say 43-year-old Patrick Hollis was declared dead at a nearby hospital after a crash at the intersection of US-12 and Bell Rd. in Milton Township, just after 8:00am Friday morning. Police say Hollis was driving a 2009 Honda Fit and traveling southeast on US-12 when he collided head-on with a 2000 Pontiac Sunfire traveling in the opposite direction. The driver of the Pontiac, 24-year-old Ray Marshall, was hospitalized, but his injuries are reportedly not life-threatening.

Police announced that the crash happened when one of the two cars crossed the center line, but their release does not specify which. Investigators say they do not believe Hollis was wearing a seat belt. Police are still looking into the cause of the crash.
