Joplin city, MO : Webb City man injured in accident on Missouri Highway 171 on Wednesday, April 13, 2016

A Webb City man was injured in a single-vehicle accident at 1 a.m. Wednesday on Missouri Highway 171, just west of Joplin city limits, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

Michael W. Cargill, 22, was taken to Mercy Hospital Joplin with minor injuries.

Cargill's car ran off the road to avoid hitting an oncoming vehicle, then struck a mailbox and concrete culvert, the patrol said.
