Robert C. Gleeson, 78, of Centre Hall, was killed in a car crash Sunday around 4:20 p.m., according to state police at Rockview.
The crash occurred on Penns Valley Road approximately 800 feet west of Ross Hill Road in Gregg Township.
Gleeson was traveling west in the eastbound lane toward a Ford F150 traveling east, driven by Carey R. Stover, 63, of Aaronsburg, police said.
Stover swerved to the right side of the roadway to avoid a collision, but the front side of Gleeson’s car struck the left side of Stover’s pick-up, which spun 90 degrees counter-clockwise and came to a stop across the roadway facing north.
Gleeson’s car continued across the eastbound land and struck a utility pole. Gleeson died at the scene, police said. His airbag deployed, but he did not appear to be wearing his seatbelt, according to police.
