A Pierce County sheriff's spokesman says a stolen car pursuit in the Spanaway, Washington, area has ended with two people dead after the car was involved in a crash.
The News Tribune reports that a 22-year-old man and an 18-year-old woman died Wednesday afternoon. Sheriff's spokesman Ed Troyer says the driver of the second vehicle involved in the crash was being treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
Troyer says the driver of a stolen white Honda lost control of that car while trying to elude deputies and it was hit by an oncoming vehicle.
A deputy stopped a stolen black Honda at about the same time and detained one person.
