Multiple Wrecks Close Northbound in Lorena Texas

Traffic was beginning to move again late Tuesday afternoon after a series of accidents on Interstate 35 in the Lorena area that closed down the northbound lanes of the highway from just north of Old Lorena Road to past Rosenthal Road.
The accident scenes were cleared by just after 4:30 p.m., but traffic was backed up almost to Bruceville-Eddy, the Texas Department of Transportation said.

Earlier Department of Public Safety trooper D.L. Wilson said initial reports indicated as many as seven to eight 18-wheelers were involved along with several other vehicles.One accident, which happened just before 2:30 p.m. involved a passenger vehicle and five commercial vehicles.
Two people suffered minor injuries.
