BETTENDORF, IL : One hurt in Bettendorf crash on Wednesday, December 7th, 2016

One person was injured in a single-car accident Wednesday afternoon on Middle Road in Bettendorf near 14th Street.According to Bettendorf Police, at 3:57 p.m. Wednesday the Scott Emergency Communication Center received multiple 911 calls about a power line down in the roadway and possible single-vehicle accident. It was determined that a motorist had driven off the north side of the roadway and struck a utility pole and tree.

The Bettendorf Fire Department extricated an adult male from the vehicle who was transported via MEDIC Ambulance to Genesis East in Davenport. No further information was released about the man, who was the lone occupant of the car.

Middle Road was closed for about 25 minutes while MidAmerican Energy de-energized the power lines and removed them from the roadway. The investigation continues into the incident; charges are pending.
