North Baltimore, MD : Pedestrian struck, killed by tow truck near E. 33rd Street in North Baltimore on Wednesday, March 9, 2016

A 53-year-old man died Wednesday after he was hit by a tow truck while trying to cross Greenmount Avenue in North Baltimore, police said.

Police did not immediately identify the man, but said he died at the hospital. He was struck about 12:30 p.m. near the intersection of Greenmount and E. 33rd St. in the Abell neighborhood, police said.

The tow truck was traveling south in the 3200 block of Greenmount Ave. when it hit the man, investigators said. The tow truck stopped and the driver wasn't injured.

Police continue to investigate.
