The Latest on a school bus crash in Los Angeles CountyA school district spokeswoman says a school bus that crashed onto its side following a collision with a car in Lancaster was carrying eight special education students and two staff members.
Los Angeles County Fire Department Inspector Richard Licon says the driver of the car and a student from the bus are hospitalized in critical condition Tuesday.
Betsy Sanchez with Antelope Valley Union High School District says a total of seven people from the bus including the school staffers were also transported.
Sanchez says the students were on their way to Eastside High School at the time of the collision that crumpled a Cadillac sedan and knocked over a utility pole.
The California Highway Patrol is investigating the cause.
