SOMERSET, NJ : Police ID Somerset man killed in crash on I-195 on Saturday, 24th November 2018

Police have identified Delton M. Pacheco, 66, of Somerset as the man who died following an accident on I-195 eastbound in Somerset just after noon, near the Wilbur Avenue entrance ramp.

Pacheco’s 1996 Dodge Ram pickup was broken down in the acceleration lane coming from Route 103 eastbound onto Interstate 195 eastbound. He was in front of his vehicle with the hood up.

State police said a Honda Accord driven by a 60-year-old Swansea woman struck the Dodge from behind. The Dodge was pushed into Pacheco, with the truck ending up in the ditch on the side of the road. The Accord ended up in the right and middle travel lanes.

State police arrived on the scene around 12:15 on Friday. Both drivers were taken to Charlton Memorial Hospital.


Pacheco was pronounced dead at the hospital as a result of the injuries suffered in the crash.
