Port Charlotte,FL : Port Charlotte woman dies in wrong-way crash on May, Tuesday 1st 2018

A Port Charlotte woman died Tuesday after crashing into two vehicles while driving the wrong way on State Road 80 in Lee County, the Florida Highway Patrol reported. The crash occurred just before 2:30p.m. Helene Lang was traveling east in the westbound lanes through the intersection of Orange River Boulevard.

Jessica Ward, 38, of Fort Myers, was driving west with 15-year-old passenger Paris Madison. As the vehicles approached each other, Ward steered evasively into the paved right turn lane to avoid a head-on collision. The left side of Lang’s vehicle struck the driver’s side mirror of Ward’s car, according to a press release.
