Houston, TX : A woman is dead after she tried to walk across the North Freeway in Spring on May, Tuesday 2nd 2017

A woman is dead after she tried to walk across the North Freeway in Spring, Harris County Sheriff's deputies said.
The unidentified victim was struck twice along I-45 North near Cypresswood around 8:30 p.m. Tuesday.
The woman had been crossing the freeway, from the west side to the east side, when a vehicle traveling northbound on the road hit her, HCSO's Derek Wilkie said. The woman fell to the ground, and an SUV ran over her.
The SUV and the first vehicle collided, causing the SUV to burst into flames.
The woman died at the scene.
Neither of the drivers were injured. One of them called authorities to report what happened.
There was no indication immediately after the collision that either driver was intoxicated, but the investigation is ongoing.
The crash shut down all northbound traffic along the freeway at the scene.
