Lynchburg, VA : One dies, three injured in Wards Roads wreck on Tuesday, 3rd April 2018

A 16-year-old Bedford County girl died Tuesday after being ejected from a vehicle in Campbell County, police said.

The single-vehicle crash happened at about 1:15 p.m. on Wards Road, about five miles south of Lynchburg city limits, after a Jeep Wrangler ran off the left side of the highway and into a median, according to a Virginia State Police news release.

The Jeep struck a culvert and overturned at least three times, ejecting all four of the occupants from the car’s soft-top, police said. Only one of the passengers was wearing a seat belt.
