Watkinsville, GA : Woman killed in a traffic accident at Harden Hill Road On Monday, May 23rd, 2016

Novene Landers, 84, of Watkinsville was killed Monday afternoon when her 2010 Ford Fusion crossed in the path of a utility truck.
Landers, of 1601 Hillcrest Drive, was entering South Main Street from Harden Hill Road when her car was T-boned by a Walton EMC bucket truck. She died at the scene.
A bystander told The Oconee Enterprise that he was in his front yard a few houses away from the intersection when he heard the screeching of tires for two or three seconds and then the sound of the impact. He ran to the scene as he called 911.

The time indicator on his cell phone showed that he made the call at 4:38 p.m.
It was also reported that she had a dog with her, who was turned over to Animal Control. Watkinsville Police and the Georgia State Patrol responded to the accident, as well as Oconee Fire and Rescue. The Sheriff's Office assisted.
