BATAVIA, IL : Batavia crash leaves vehicle upended on Friday, 18th May 2018
A vehicle came to rest in a vertical position after an incident at about 4:30 p.m. May 18 that began in the main parking lot of the Batavia Public Library, according to a police news release.
Batavia police and fire personnel responded to the library at 10 S. Batavia Ave for a traffic crash in the parking lot. A driver pulling out from a parking spot traveled forward instead of in reverse and drove through the wall of the upper lot and down into the lower lot, striking an unoccupied, parked vehicle in the lower lot and coming to rest in a vertical position, the release stated.
The vehicle was occupied by one adult and two children who were all able to get out of the vehicle without injury, according to the release.
Tow crews are currently on the scene and are preparing to remove the vehicles. The scene is expected to be cleared shortly.
