A Colorado State Patrol trooper who was hit by car on I-25 Sunday night has died.
State Patrol said it happened around 9:30 p.m. near Tomah Road, south of Castle Rock.
The trooper was investigating a minor crash when another vehicle hit her. The trooper's name has not been released.
Both directions of I-25, south of Castle Rock, are expected to remain closed until after the morning rush hour, CDOT reported.
Traffic has been backed up for several hours.
