Hooksett, N.H : Two people rescued after car crashes in Merrimack River on Sunday, March 27, 2016

Two people are recovering Sunday after losing control of their car in Hooksett and crashing into the Merrimack River.

Hooksett Fire Department officials said a car was speeding south on Route 3-A just before 1 p.m. Sunday.

They said the car crossed into the northbound lane, left the road and sailed off a 5-foot drop into the river where it landed on its side.

Boaters spotted the car and called 911.

Rescue crews were able to get everyone out with minor injuries and hypothermia. The car has been towed.
