HOUSTON, TX : Child struck killed by vehicle after not using crosswalk on Saturday, 3rd February 2024

A child is dead after being struck by a vehicle in north Houston Saturday.

It happened near the intersection of N. Shepherd and Tidwell around 8:30 p.m.

Authorities responded to the report of a pedestrian being hit by a vehicle. When they arrived, they found a child, who appears to be a pre-teen, had been hit while walking across N. Shepherd where there was not a crosswalk.

The traffic light had been green for the ongoing traffic, and he was hit.

The child was later pronounced dead at the scene.
