WEST COLUMBIA, SC : Driver charged with DUI following deadly West Columbia crash on Sunday, 8th September 2024

A woman was charged with driving under the influence (DUI) following a crash between a motorcycle and a car.
The crash happened around 4:20 p.m. on Sunday at the 400 block of Sunset Boulevard.
According to Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher, Jose Antonio Colon, 59, of West Columbia, died at the hospital after being hit by a car.
Fisher said Colon was traveling westbound on Sunset Boulevard when the driver of the car turned in front of him and hit him. He was pronounced dead due to the injuries he sustained in the crash, according to Fisher.
