Platteville, WI : Moline couple killed in Wisconsin accident on Friday morning, August 5, 2016
A Moline couple was killed in a Wisconsin traffic accident Friday morning.
According to the Grant County Sheriff's Office, Dr. John Hansen, 69, and his wife, Francine, 66, were in an accident shortly before 9 a.m. Friday near Lancaster, Wis., about 20 miles northwest of Platteville.
According to the sheriff's office, the Hansons' SUV was struck by a semi driven by Eugeniu Caraus, 27, of Lombard, who failed to stop at the intersection of Highway A and Highway 129.
No charges had been filed as of Monday morning; the accident remains under investigation.
Dr. Hansen operated Hansen Family Dentistry LLC in Moline and was president of the Rock Island District Dental Society. After 41 years, he retired in 2012. Mrs. Hansen taught at Denkmann Elementary School in Rock Island before her children were born and continued to volunteer at school through the PTA.
Rafferty Funeral Home in Moline is handling services for Dr. and Mrs. Hansen.
